The youngest Chief team were finalists in the St. Thomas Tournament held June 4, 5, and 6!  In their first tournament ever, the boys came back from a 9 run deficit in the last two innings on Friday night to win the first game against Kitchener. 

 

They then went undefeated on Saturday facing Cambridge and North London to advance to the semi-final game on Sunday, beating the host team, St. Thomas, on Sunday morning in the semi-final to advance to the championship game Sunday afternoon.  The championship game, against the Markham Mariners, was extremely tight throughout, going 7 full innings with several lead changes throughout.   Markham scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to surpass Whitby's one run lead and take the final game 11-10.

 

What an incredible weekend of ball.   Well done boys!!
